January, 2008 – Outdoor Idaho won for Best Series at the annual PBS gathering in Ohio. "A Palouse Paradise" also won for Best Science & Nature program; and "Idaho Getaways" won the Information category. The awards came from NETA, the National Educational Telecommunications Association. Idaho city gets permit to use wastewater
Meridian is the first city in Idaho to get a state Department of Environmental Quality permit to use treated wastewater to water golf courses, parks and open spaces.

Big Wildlife petitions Montana to end cougar hunts in the state
In its petition to the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department requesting the state end cougar hunting, an international wildlife protection organization cited a Washington State University study that said the removal of adult male cougars creates social chaos in cougar populations, increasing the number of human-cougar conflicts.
