Idaho Public Television viewers who pledge their support during IdahoPTV’s upcoming year end min-drive will have early access to tickets for a live concert in Boise featuring the popular Irish music ensemble Celtic Woman.
The concert, scheduled at 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, in the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, is part of Celtic Woman’s 2010 “Songs from the Heart” North America tour.
As part of a thank-you gift from Idaho Public Television, supporters who make a pledge during the PBS affiliate’s annual fund-raising campaign between December 4-15 will be eligible for premium tickets to the May 21 performance before they go on sale to the general public. Pledges can be made online from December 4-15 or during IdahoPTV’s live on-air pledge drive that starts at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 6. The specials scheduled for December 6 drive include the PBS production of “Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart.”
In the televised special and during their tour, the four Celtic Woman vocalists — Lisa Kelly, Chloё Agnew, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe — and violinist Máiréad Nesbitt perform spirited Celtic fiddle and bodhran pieces, lush arrangements of Irish classics, contemporary covers and original compositions.
